My Power recorded lineage goes back 5 and possibly 6 generations to the north-east corner of Co. Waterford and pretty much a brick wall. Also includes many descendents two sets of my 3rd great grandparents, John Power (ca1800-1891) and Ellen Flynn (1803-1874) from the Kilbrack area, and the other set Patrick Powers (1807- ) and Margaret Lynch (1803-1857) from the Stradbally area. All emigrated in the mid 1800s with most of not all of their children and settled in the central Massachusetts area. I am texting with a 4th cousin in the Kilbrack area. She has sent pictures of my uncle when he visited them 50 years ago,but have not yet made a lineage connection with her. I am juggling family tree on four different sites and have dna testing from two. With all that you might think that I know what I am doing, but I don't. Would greatly enjoy working with anyone and appreciate all the help I can get. Edwin R Power

I am searching for relatives of my uncle's wife (both are deceased.) Uncle William Allen Rhodes married Virginia Dare Power, born 1929, died 2001. Ginny had a brother named Norman who had been injured in the Korean Conflict. Seeking info on their parents and more details on them, as well. I knew Aunt Ginny well, but hadn't occasion to meet her family except when I was very young. Thank you in advance for any assistance building out the family Power profile! Cheers, Michelle

My Ancestry tree is Power/Pickering I am trying to find my Grandparents and any other relatives, via Ancestry. My grandparents lived in or around Alton, Hampshire, England. They were John Power and Martha Power (nee Brown). My father John Robert Power was born in Alton 18th November 1926 at 7, Tower Street, Alton, Hampshire, England. He unfortunately passed away in 2007, he tried on several occasions to find his parents (John and Martha) without success. As a baby he was left with a family headed by Edwin George Bann (Senior) who lived at Snode Cottages, Snode Hill, Medstead, Hampshire. His biological parents John and Martha were allegedly "in service" and so could have been employed by a prominent person or establishment as my Grandfather's profession was stated on my fathers birth certificate as a Butler. Edwin George Bann (Junior) worked as a gardener for Lady Elsie Bradford at Medstead Manor. Most if not all of the Bann family generations of the time are now deceased so my efforts to find my Grandparents are a little blind as I have no point of reference to begin a search. Although clearly my Grandparents were in or around Alton when my father was born I do not know where they lived or indeed where they went. I can see from records that the Bann family lived at Snode cottages for some years which is where they must have met my Grandparents John and Martha. Allegedly my Grandparents John and Martha had several children that did not live with them (probably due to them being in service) that they collected together wherever they lived in or around Alton and left the area as a family only leaving behind my father in the care of the Bann family. The Bann family eventually moved to Carshalton Surrey probably around 1930, taking my father John Robert Power with them. My father passed away without ever knowing his parents and it was something that troubled him all of his life as he did not know why they would leave him behind. He did not hold any resentment but would have been overjoyed to find them. On his passing I promised myself that I would do my upmost to find them if I could. After all they are also my Grandparents. I have recently discovered Stanley Power my father's (John Robert Power) brother through a DNA match of his grandson who lives in Canada and am now in touch with the rest of Stanley's family. If you recognise any family similarities or names of his parents John and Martha or relatives it would be most appreciated if you could contact me. My details are as follows.
